About
Hi! I'm Lily, an indie author and self publisher. Like all writers, I love to write. And like (almost) all writers, I spend a lot of my writing time not actually writing (oops!). Lucky for me, I procrastinate by hyper-fixating on other aspects of the self-publishing process, such as ebook design. The covers in this portfolio are those that I've made for myself, for friends, or for practice.
Programs I use to make book covers:
➣ Canva PRO
➣ Clip Studio Paint PRO
➣ GIMP
A note that I do NOT use AI generators and I try my best to avoid using stock photos or assets created with AI
Types of covers I can make:
➣ Stock image covers (with 1 figure, 1-2 secondary focus images, and 1-3 background or texture images)
➣ Illustrated and stock mix covers (containing a blend of artwork and stock images)
➣ Illustrated covers (made from a finalized piece by an artist and I add the text)
(Take a look at my portfolio to see examples)
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Step-by-Step Design
1. Choose the size of your ebook cover. Amazon KDP recommends 2560 (height) by 1600 (width), which I use as the standard size. Please let me know upfront if you require different dimensions for your cover so I can set up the canvas properly.
2. Decide if you want a cover made from stock photos, a custom illustration, or a mix of both.
➣ If you'd like a custom illustration, you'll need to reach out to an artist to commission a piece of artwork. I can take either a full scene (characters and a background) or a partial piece (such as character art with no background), combine it with stock photos, and add typography to make your finalized cover. It's up to you!
3. Tell me about your book! In order to make a cover that fits, I'll need to know a bit about your story. Please tell me the genre, subgenre, and send a story blurb.
4. Feel free to send me covers you like (or point out examples in my portfolio). This helps me get a better feel for the type and style of cover you're looking for.
5. I will provide a high-quality PNG cover image that is ready to be used. I will also provide the source file in GIMP (an open-source software that is free to use), allowing you to make edits or tweaks in the future if you desire.
Pricing
These rates are lower than industry standards to reflect my status as a learner—I have five years of basic design experience, but I'm still studying the art of book covers! Payments help me cover the steep yearly cost of programs like Canva Pro.
A. STOCK IMAGE COVER
A cover made from stock images or a mix of stock images and art you provide. Includes a custom cover image, a title, subtitle (optional), and author name. Two rounds of edits are included to help fine-tune the cover to suit your vision.
B. TYPOGRAPHY ONLY
A cover made from a ready-to-go piece of art you provide. Includes a title, subtitle (optional), and author name. Two rounds of edits to the text and its placement are included to help fine-tune the cover to suit your vision.
Terms of Service
PAYMENTS & ORDERS:
- Payment can be sent through PayPal or Stripe. Once payment and details about a cover are received, I will begin working on the cover. If there is a queue, design requests will be handled in the order they are received.
POST-SERVICE:
- Feel free to request up to two rounds of edits when your cover is delivered. If no edits are requested within a week of delivery, the cover is marked as complete.
- If desired, any additional rounds of edits beyond the first two will incur a $5 fee each.
- I store completed covers and their source files for up to two weeks after the cover is marked complete. After that time, due to storage restraints, I may need to remove them from my computer files. Ultimately, you are responsible for keeping your ebook cover and any source files you'd like to hang onto.
LICENSE & OWNERSHIP:
- Covers are created with materials that I have rights and/or licenses to use. This may include royalty-free, public domain, purchased or licensed images, vectors, textures, and text. I do NOT use AI generators to create images, and I try my best to avoid images on stock sites that may have been created with it.
- Upon delivery, rights to use the finished cover transfer to you. These rights only apply to the finished cover as a complete, cohesive piece of art. The rights for individual elements within the final cover remain with their original holders.
- I retain the ability to display the finalized cover on my portfolio and share about it on social media (which is free marketing help for you and your book!)
- You are free to use your ebook cover for personal and/or commercial use.
- Your cover is yours. It will never be resold to someone else.
